Pre-Apprenticeship Training

Pre-apprenticeship training is a one week course that will typically be offered the second week each month, Monday through Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. Please check the Training & Events Calendar for exact dates. Class size is limited to 8 students, and is free to contractor member employees.

Subjects covered in this class include:

  Basic material identification and use
  Hand tools
  Power tools
  Tool safety
  Introduction to the National Electrical Code
  Ohm's law
  Wiring devices
  Wiring lighting fixtures
  Wire stripping and terminating
  Installation of boxes
  Basic circuitry
  Installation and use of four wiring methods:
      AC
      MC
      Romex
      Half inch EMT conduit bending

Students must bring their hand tools to class.
