Kentucky Electrician Exam Prep Course

The Electrician Exam Prep course is designed to refresh students on the NEC code and help them pass the ICC Kentucky Electrician’s Exam.

Students must have graduated from an accredited electrical program or have been working in the trade for at least six years.

To each class, students must bring:

    ->   NEC code book
    ->   A calculator
    ->   Note pad
    ->   A pen/pencil and a highlighter

The Electrician Exam Prep course is made up six evening (Tuesday, Thursday, Monday, Wednesday, Monday, Tuesday) sessions.

    ->   Night one (Tuesday):
        ->   Test taking techniques
        ->   Navigating the code book
        ->   Definitions
        ->   Ohm’s law
        ->   Voltage drop
        ->   Ampacities
        ->   Derating
        ->   Conduit fill

    ->   Night two (Thursday):
        ->   Box fill
        ->   Grounding
        ->   Cable/raceways
        ->   Receptacles/lighting

    ->   Night three (Monday):
        ->   Special equipment
        ->   Appliances
        ->   Clearances
        ->   Motors
        ->   Generators

    ->   Night four (Wednesday):
        ->   Transformers
        ->   Services
        ->   Hazardous locations
        ->   Health Care Facilities
        ->   Places of Assembly

    ->   Night five (Monday):
        ->   Practice Electrician’s Exam

    ->   Night six (Tuesday):
        ->   Review Electrician’s Exam
